The Monroe Combined Utilities Department is a full service municipal utility provider, offering it's customers electric, cable television, broadband cable internet, voice over IP phone service, natural gas, water, and wastewater services.  Ask about our special combination packages for phone, internet, and cable television services!

The Customer Service department is located in City Hall at 215 North Broad Street.  Our mailing address is PO Box 725, Monroe, Georgia 30655.  Our local phone number is 770-267-3429, which is a 24 hour emergency number. Our toll free number is 1-800-575-3004.  The main office fax number is 770-267-3698.

Utility payments can be made over the phone at 1-866-239-6929.  You may also pay utility bills online AT THIS LINK.  You will need your account number and the last four digits of the telephone number you have listed on your utility account to use this service.

Our office hours are from 8am until 5pm Monday through Friday.  Our drive-thru hours are from 7:30am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday.  There is also a drop box for utility payment convenience located in the drive-thru at City Hall.

To sign up for automatic bank draft, the customer must fill out the appropriate information form and drop off a voided check to the Customer Service Department.  Such draft will never charge the customer's bank account any sooner than the stated billing due date.

Why should people call 811?

The main reason is safety.  Having the approximate location of underground utility lines clearly marked before digging reduces the risk of hitting a line, which can lead to serious injury or death, disrupt service to the community and potential fines and repair costs. 

What is Georgia 811?

811 is the nationally recognized number designated by the FCC to call in order to prevent damages to underground utility lines while digging.  Georgia 811 will have the appropriate professional locate technician identify and mark the approximate location of lines with colored paint or flags.  Once underground lines have been marked by the locate technician, callers will know the approximate location of utility lines and can then proceed to dig safely!
