Our Mission Statement:

"To protect and to serve our community with the highest quality of law enforcement service by providing fair, firm, and consistent public safety services in partnership with the community."

The City of Monroe Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency, providing proactive enforcement and public safety services to our community. The police department is a 46 person agency comprised of Uniform Patrol Officers, Detectives, K-9 Teams, Crime Suppression Officers, a School Resource Officer and Sworn & Cilian Support Staff.

With the appointmet of Keith Glass as the Chief of Police, the City of Monroe Police Department is working to develop programs that will continue building strong relationships between the community and the department. We will continue to strive toward complete public awareness of our department and public safety activities.

The Police Deaprtment relocated from the former City Hall building, 227 S. Broad Street, into our new facility at 116 S. Broad Street in April 2006. Our new facility sits just across the street from the Historic Walton County Courthouse. Although our building is new to us, it has been around since the early 1900's. Still known to many as the Aycock Building, this facility served as the Milner-Aycock Department Store until the 1980's when it became the Walton County Judicial Center. The police department now holds traffic court in the old Superior Court three times a month.
